Hinging Radar Arches

After being approached by a number of customers with high radar arches about the possibility of hinging the radar arch of their boat ELITE Marine Services set about designing and fabricating hinges that would allow the arch to fold to reduce air draft.

Whilst a number of manufacturers offer this kind of solution at the factory on some models it certainly isn’t widely available on all models for all brands. For customers with a fly bridge trying to navigate under some of the bridges on the inland rivers, hinging the radar arch means they don’t have to compromise on their choice of boat and location or route

The stainless steel hinges allow the radar arch to be neatly folded, meaning that the air draft of a boat can be reduced sufficiently enough to allow the boat to pass under bridges. A perfect solution for boaters seeking the freedom to explore the inland waterways of Britain.

For those boaters wishing to look the part as well as having a practical solution it’s possible to fit hydraulic rams to lower and raise the radar arch.
