Watertight screen just right for ‘Dutch Steal’

When Pam Statham emailed ELITE Marine Services with her enquiry she’d been searching for someone to fit a windscreen to her boat for nearly two years.

Pam bought ‘Dutch Steal’, which lies on the River Thames, as a pre-owned boat without a Flybridge windscreen. Little did she know the trouble she would have trying to find a company to help her fit a screen to her boat.

One company she’s come to rely on is ELITE Marine Services. After discussing her requirements with the company’s Managing Director Lee Daniel, ELITE Marine Services were shortly on site to design and make a pattern for the screen from wood so the window manufacturer could custom build a screen to fit the cruiser.

The team at ELITE Marine Services then took the pattern to screen manufacturers Houdini Marine Windows in Essex. Charlie Stewart, Houdini’s Managing Director explains, “It’s imperative that the pattern is accurate so that we can custom build the screen perfectly and precisely to fit the boat to avoid any gaps and leaks. That’s where the skill and expertise ELITE Marine Services has becomes invaluable. They were able to design and make a pattern that enabled us to build the screen without any difficulty.”

From the pattern Houdini Marine Windows made a five piece Flybridge screen from glass and aluminium. ELITE Marine Services collected the screen and fitted it to ‘Dutch Steal’, completing the job as planned.

Pam’s reaction was remarkable, “I’m absolutely delighted with the new screen. When I thought I was going to have to give up on the screen I found Lee and thankfully ELITE Marine Services has completed the job and it looks wonderful. I’m very happy with the screen and the way the job was carried out, very cleanly and efficiently.” Pam adds, “Lee kept me updated at every stage of the process so I knew what was happening.”
